Letter to Bashar Al Asad

Dear Bashar Al Asad,
I am writing this after watching quite a sad piece on the suffering of the Syrian people.
I totally understand that it’s the ‘rebel fighters’ as well as the government forces that are causing casualties and I also see your frustration at the support given to the rebels by the west.

But I don’t want to talk about that right now. This very second I wish to try to make you understand things from my point of view. To make you see that life is so short and it should be lived well. No man or woman has the right to take away the life of another innocent human being. The sanctity of life has to be respected. Life is but a breath away from being death. We shall all be no more. You, me and those people dying in Syria will all eventually die. But why are they dying because of you?

Why are you causing their blood to be on your hands? Who has bestowed such power upon you that you can make such decisions? Do you not have a good life? Is there some ease or comfort that you lack in life? Is there some satisfaction that you get from the death of people? I mean why can you just not let things be? I plead with you for the sake of humanity and for the sake of the children being killed in your country. Please remember that we belong to Allah SWT and to Him we shall return. We will all be accountable for every single one of our actions. Even if you have led to the death of one innocent person it’s as though you have killed the whole of humanity. How many times do you think you have slaughtered humanity?

By God it’s not too late. It’s never too late. I beg you to repent for your sins and stop this. Please stop this bloodshed of one Muslim by another Muslim. Let Allah SWT be the judge of those who have wronged you. Do the best you can do and leave the rest to Him.

Life can be so simple and peaceful if you just let go of the hate. Embrace the beauty and love around you. Live life mirroring the pureness of the universe and the innate goodness of thy soul.

I once again beg you to stop this and be the bigger and stronger person. Don’t be another cause for the disunity of Muslims. There is enough of that already.
Salaam alaikum

Well wisher
